Originally constructed in 1909 as Metropolitan Life Insurance Company’s headquarters, this clocktower, near Madison Square Park, has been ingeniously reinvented to offer luxury boutique accommodation, a tranquil hotel spa, chic new event spaces and a Michelin-starred restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Jason Atherton, all encompassed by 360-degree views of the City. The Clocktower restaurant offers updated classics and contemporary British fare by Michelin starred Chef Jason Atherton. “We had a great experience at the New York EDITION.The lobby bar had excellent cocktails and great bar food.The room was spotless. We used the complementary shoe shining service and they did a great job.It is a very expensive hotel, so be ready for $20+ cocktails and $12 fees for anything delivered to your room. There is a $35 per night destination fee that is returned to you in bar, dry cleaning, and spa credits.We made sure to get a drink at the bar every night, but the discount made it feel more like what we expected to pay given the high price.”
