“It is all about expectations. For two nights I paid $514. Based on the reviews and pictures, I expected something spectacular. What I got was a spectacular location and historic hotel. The rest was not even mediocre. They did not have my reservation. Even though I had a confirmation number. The room they gave me was very small with a window that looked at another wall of the hotel. I called and asked to change the room. They told me that their hotel is not known for the views. Yet, they gave me another room that was bigger and had a window that was looking to the street. However, none of the outlets in the lamps worked. There were no refreshments. The faucet was dripping and the light switch in the bathroom was not turning on every time. Their pool is small and only open until 9 pm. In other words, these features describe a cheap motel, not the one that is highly rated.
It is nice to be in the center of Chicago and close to everything but there are cheaper hotels out there with better service.”
