Great Downtown location near restaurants, shopping, museum, theaters, US Consulate in Rio. I did came back to this hotel, on Nov.8,2021 still pretty good, but just one bad thing: The Check In, is at 2PM, nothing wrong with this, but the hotel gets pretty busy. And most of the guests arrive there early, so the lobby looks like a refugee camp, people sleeping, seating around, waiting for the check in time. I arrived there around 9:30am, and asked if they could my only bag on storage, they charged me R$30,00 / U$5.00, I paid and went out to get ahead with my business. Around 12:30pm I returned, and the lobby was with about +50 people waiting to check in time. The 2 person at the reception, was very strict with the time, and only started to take the check in at 2pm sharp. So, long lines formed, and each guest that gets their turn have to fill a long form, stating name, address, and all the other stuff. They should have to ask the guests to fill the forms before, I was the second one in line. Before me was only a couple, they started to fill the forms, and suddenly that couple changed into a party of 9 persons. I have to wait for that, all of them come to the counter and fill the form, 2 at a time. And after all forms collected, the receptionist started assigning the rooms. The process to get to me took about 15 minutes, at that pace I’m guessing that the last guest got to his room at 3pm or later. I did make a complaint with the receptionist and got answered with disdain, and he was telling me that the check in is 2 pm. I strongly suggest that they give and collect the forms as the guests arrive at the hotel, and start assigning the rooms, and at 2pm call the guests and give them the keys. Not make them wait an extra hour or more to do the check in after 2pm. For this reason, I'm taking one star on my review. BTW! BE CAREFUL WALKING AROUND, IT'S A VERY DANGEROUS AREA!

One star for the whole experience. Parking lot is far, neighborhood is terrible, crackheads all around Cinelândia, problems with the door key and lighting, dirty and the people at the from desk act like if they are doing you a huge favor. This place it is terrible. Parked my car across the street, because I arrived late at the hotel (traffic and rain), was informed the parking lot was full. Another parking lot near by CLOSED. I had to wake at 6am, and drive around the neighborhood to find a parking otherwise car would be towed. Forget about parking on the street, or should I say, good luck finding parking. If you don’t need a car. Hotel it’s dirty, old, mold, bedbugs and a lot more. But if you need some “action” this is the place to be. Good luck!!!

It has an apart hotel next to it which offers reasonable lodging at an affordable rate. The room I stayed in had no amenities, the shower did not have hot water and the minibar was empty. If you're staying for a day or two and just need a place to crash, sure - go for it.

First of all, this was my experience and I recommend you to read other's experiences too to be fair with the service and more accurate. I spent two nights there. The receptionist was respectful and explained me all the hotel details. The room was fairly clean, with some usage stains since it must be a long-time active hotel. The bed is good, but nothing exceptional. It has also an electronic safe, a minibar, hair-dryer and a closet with a good size. It actually matches the photos available in most sites. Despite that, my experience was badly influenced by some other things. I've had a lot of issues with opening the magnetic door and had to call for assistance multiple times to enter my room. Also had some air-conditioner leak on bed side and some shower leaking too, which, to be fair, downed my evaluation a lot. Things don't have to be exceptional or fancy, but keeping it simple and functional would've be a greater deal.

While the breakfast buffet was very nice and the wifi good, housekeeping was non existent., The front desk could communicate in Portuguese only and was not cooperative in resolving anything. The room was well worn as was the lobby and bar. It took two days to get toilet paper as housekeeping never appeared on the floor, and never answered the phone. After threatening to remove it from the lobby toilets, they finally gave us some.

Location it is in down town near Metro Station but it is not ok to go outside after 22 hour . Breakfast it is excellent , cheese , juice ( very good ) , salami , ham , egg (scrambled ) a lot of cakes...
