“While I've ranked them pretty low on service, that's not a function of the people that work in the hotel. They are fantastic people and are extremely helpful. Really really impressed with their attitudes and their willingness to help patrons. However, the scheduling of the bar and restaurant in the hotel are atrocious. You just can't have the main hotel in New Haven only provide dining or cocktails a couple days a week or breakfasts. And those couple days have bar service between 5:00 p.m. and midnight. That's just not acceptable for a mediocre hotel, let alone a decent one. This hotel gets the overcharge right...Because it's near Yale, but it's amenities are very poor. This takes this hotel in my mind from about a 4.5 to a three. I'll be sure to try a different hotel next time. Again, it's a pity given how wonderful the staff is!”
